YOUTH SPORTSPLEX COMMUNITY CENTER

The Community Center and neighborhood development plan was created in response to the needs of a community action group to enrich the lives of the residents of the Ravendale and Airport Subdivision neighborhoods on the East side of Detroit. Extensive site analysis gave way to seven recommendations, which were tied to three Public Interest Design models. Onsite and offsite components were proposed as a five-part, twenty-five year phasing plan, including the development of a large community center, a track and field facility, an updated complete street component of Connor Street, infill housing, and pocket parks.
