The Hills

What if we had an architecture of the landscape, an architecture that grows, changes and decays with the environment around it? Where the landscape does not give way to the architecture imposed upon it allowing the landscape to become the canvas for the community developing it.

This project creates an architecture sunken into the landscape where the envelope of the homes is given almost entirely over to the greater community. A courtyard cut through each hill, maintains an intimate moment at the center of each home. Terraced gardens stepped up from commercial spaces, allow even the commercial entities to engage the growing community. The Hills project aims to embrace both nature and the community through this mixed-use development.
