TURN W.A.S TO WASN’T

A social good campaign is a branding campaign that effectively utilizes the methods of corporate branding in order to promote support for a cause. Some successful campaigns have been the American Red Cross and PEANUTS® campaign, the Truth campaign, and the Man Therapy campaign. TURN W.A.S TO WASN’T is a model for how a brand campaign can raise awareness for a rare disease. W.A.S is an acronym for Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder of the immune system that primarily affects boys. It is characterized by abnormal immune function and a reduced ability to form blood clots. The mission of TURN W.A.S TO WASN’T is to increase the number of people signing up to become bone marrow donors as it is the only known cure for the disease.

Deliberate choices of color and font used throughout the branding campaign designs help to create a cohesive and memorable brand identity and experience. Paired with empathetic storytelling these elements encourage a connection between the children affected and the audience. Additionally, the use of multimedia, such as a website, instagram page, and posters allow for the campaign to have a wider reach and inspire more people to sign up as bone marrow donors.
