The Madison Swarm

The Madison Swarm brings a new franchise model to the professional sports industry that is not only a form of entertainment but also a proactive movement for the community. Designing the latest NHL franchise deviates from the norm by integrating a specific cause (local, national, or global) into its branding to entice positive societal change. The Swarm uses the professional sport’s cultivating fanbase to educate, promote, and sustain the global bee population. They encourage everyone to join their collective and support this cause through a revolutionary sporting experience.

Nick Barrett

Nick Barrett is a 2023 graduate from Lawrence Technological University acquiring his BFA in Graphic Design. His design interests include logo design, brand development, speculative design, exploring tactile processes, and experimenting with different mediums. Nick is passionate about athletics and has extensive experience in the industry, dedicating his entire college career to LTU’s Ice Hockey program, twenty years of involvement in team sports, and interning at State Champs Sports Network in the Design Department. His internship entailed designing social media graphics, posters, schedules, and tickets for LTU’s athletic programs. Nick approaches design problems with experimental and unconventional methods that lead to innovative solutions. He has experience working freelance but is looking for a full-time position in the design industry.
