Soo Health and Sport Hall

Tim Landini

The Soo Health and Sport Hall facility is a sustainable facility to accommodate the needs of the communities of both Sault Ste. Marie on the US and Canadian sides. The facility will be about 81,000 square feet in size with 2 levels. It features curling and a gymnasium for the primary functions. Parking is directly underneath the gymnasium and curling spaces to maximize lot space. It also incorporates a climbing wall, fitness, weightlifting, whirlpools and saunas. The exterior elements include a water court and a gaming court. To fulfill LEED Zero requirements, the heating system is a water source heat pump and photovoltaic panels that will meet the electrical needs of the facility.
