Lunar Co-Living
Matthew Kardosh

Our project takes place in the year 2125 where the world’s population has reached beyond 12 billion people. Global food shortages, power outages, scarcity of resources and pollution levels have become exponential issues over the past 25 years.
Our solution to this problem is a design for a city on the moon, as an attempt to reduce overpopulation, and also prepare humans for survival in other extraterrestrial environments.
Before civilians are sent to the moon, they undergo a training program at the Buhl building in downtown Detroit. Here, trainees live work, and train together in preparation for moving off world. The co-living values taught at the Buhl are intended to have a presence in the lunar colony.
