Divided Dwelling

Katharine Satullo

The project utilizes 45 (cross-laminated timber) panels to construct a residential dwelling. It explores the relationship between public and private space, treating them as distinct volumes connected by a central vestibule. This configuration allows for flexible arrangements of the two sections based on site conditions, lighting, and other constraints. Case studies such as the Hameau du Latz House and the Wolfson Trailer House were examined to investigate spatial separation techniques.
