The Ashmun Bay Recreation Center proposes a strong connection to the sites abundant flora and fauna. In order to attain this biophilic goal, the design features a ramp that allows individuals to descend into the lobby and feel “submerged” within nature. Additionally, the “Solar Umbrella,” provides over 90,000 sqft of solar energy production, unique daylighting, and playful shadow opportunities.
