Skeletós

Katelyn Wolowiec

Skeletós merges fashion and furniture, translating fabric manipulation into sculptural woodwork. Inspired by smocking, the chair mimics softness through wooden twists and skeletal forms, creating an organic, dynamic aesthetic. Its spine consists of a three-part CNC-cut structure, with hand-cut ribs slotting seamlessly into place.

The seat, shaped to reflect the curvature of human hips, is formed from 27 laminated CNC-cut wood slices, resulting in a smooth, sculptural form. Wing nuts, inspired by medical spine models, add a mechanical touch, reinforcing the anatomical theme. Skeletós redefines traditional furniture by blending human-inspired forms with innovative woodworking techniques, creating a functional work of art.
