Mod Haus

Madi Clark

Poorly designed student housing negatively impacts sleep, routines, and social interaction, leading to isolation and decreased well-being. Mod Haus responds to these challenges by intentionally removing study spaces from bedrooms, allowing students to separate rest from work. Instead, a variety of shared study zones throughout the building provide flexible, supportive environments to focus, connect, or recharge.

Color is used to guide wayfinding and reflect changing energy levels, starting quiet on lower floors and becoming more vibrant as students move upward. This progression reinforces the connection between environment and behavior. Through biophilic elements, therapeutic spaces, and adaptable layouts, Mod Haus encourages healthier routines and empowers students to take control of how they live and learn, fostering success, community, and personal growth.
