Home Grown : Historical Culture Museum
Aaron Tyler Ortiz

A historic culture museum is located in my hometown, Hagerstown, Maryland. This project is targeting the heavy historic past of the town of Hagerstown, one of the original 13 colonies. From connection to the Natives and the developing railroad of the area, this town is rich in culture and history. The prime Natives of the area were the Piscataways, and there were 3 major train companies coming through the area when the railroad got developed: Western MD, Pennsy, and the B&O Railroad. Focusing on the immersive experience of the users, this project showcases relics of the past and models that will be interactive along with immersive train cars remodeled to represent the past models of the major trains. And finally, showcase the outdoor experience by having plots for those groups of modern adaptations to show the community about other cultures they have yet to discover.
