EMPOWERHAUS
Hannah Stockel

EmpowerHaus is a visionary live-work community designed to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in achieving independent, empowered lives. This inclusive, multi-use apartment building blends supportive housing with on-site employment opportunities, fostering both autonomy and belonging. Ground-floor amenities include a community café, a creative retail space, shared workrooms, and a resource desk where residents can receive guidance, connect with staff, or simply feel seen and supported.
The upper floors house thoughtfully designed, ADA-compliant apartments where residents can live independently with access to communal spaces like a dining hall, therapy room, fitness area, movie theater, and game room. EmpowerHaus is not just about meeting basic needs—it’s about celebrating potential. Each level supports a lifestyle of connection, wellness, and growth, offering a holistic environment that nurtures social engagement, personal development, and community pride.
With over 70% of adults with IDD expressing a desire to live independently, EmpowerHaus bridges the gap between dreams and reality. Through its human-centered design, the project promotes dignity, routine, and opportunity—empowering each resident to thrive on their own terms. It’s more than housing—it’s home, support system, and launchpad all in one.
