NETWORK

David Yoskovich

Network explores architecture as a living system. Composed of interlocking hexagonal mass timber modules, the geodesic structure houses a quasiindoor-outdoor gym and wellness space that supports both ecological and human health, as well as residential, educational, and community spaces. The project meets four petals of the Living Building Challenge— Place, Materiality, Energy, and Health—through ethical sourcing, energy conscious design, and a deep connection to local context. A parametric façade maintains a window-to-wall ratio below 40%, with the flexibility to reduce to 15%, optimizing daylighting and thermal
performance while remaining within LBC criteria. Materials are Red List– compliant, cradle-to-cradle informed, and, where possible, regionally sourced to reduce embodied carbon and support the regional economy. More than a structure, Network functions as an expression of interdependence—between user and environment, material and meaning. It demonstrates how thoughtful design can activate underutilized
urban space while engaging broader ecological and social systems in a regenerative way.
